Wind Power

New Developments

Morocco

A new 3.6 GW HVDC line is proposed from Morocco to England. The underwater cables will deliver renewable electricity, including wind power from Tarfaya.

Wyoming

A large 2 GW wind farm is being developed south of Rawlings and Sinclair, in Carbon County, Wyoming. The area has regular high wind during the day time when electricity is needed on the Western US electric grid.

Wind power from the project will be delivered by a new 3 GW HVDC power line, called the Trans West Express (TWE).

Pattern Transmission Project

An HVDC transmission line is proposed to send windpower electricity from Texas to Louisiana and Mississippi, at lower cost than producing electricity from existing power plants in those states.
